Waiting for the Train

I work in the Valley at Mountain Gear and I was riding home Thursday when I caught the train on Trent, heading West. I got there right after two other riders got there. It was a pretty warm day. Obviously, the three of us were slightly annoyed about our misfortune but soon we were all chatting - none of us knew each other previously. We talked about biking, shared tips and shortcuts, and just generally enjoyed waiting for the train to pass. As I looked back I noticed a long line of cars, probably 50 or so vehicles. I presume many of which were single passenger cars, and I also assume that many of them sat in their cars stewing in anger over being late for getting home and just generally mad at the world for their misfortune. This is all speculation of course, but it's an interesting thought. I rode the rest of my way home in peace and as soon as I got home I thought about how much better of a mood I was probably in then a majority of those people in cars who waited for the train. Because I know, I've been there, I'm sure we've all been there. You are alone in your car, anxious and annoyed. It's not a pleasant feeling. Meanwhile, us three riders enjoyed the wait and in turn enjoyed our commute from work.
