Your bike gives you more fun per mile than any other form of transportation. Whether you’re running to the store, grabbing a cup of coffee with a friend, or checking out a few books at the local library, 40% of all car trips in the U.S. are within 2 miles of your home--a perfect quick bike ride!
To support local businesses while rewarding you for choosing to bike to "everything" we are participating in the national Bicycle Benefits program.
Cyclists
The Bicycle Benefits sticker is your ticket to special offers from bike-friendly businesses and organizations.
Your first question: Where do I get my sticker?!
- Stickers are available for free through Bike to Work Spokane and participating merchants.
- We’re going to schedule some Bicycle Benefit informal rides that will start at one BB location and head to another, and will have stickers at those.
Your second question: Why do I want it?
Check back for the list we'll keep updating on this page. All locations are in Spokane unless otherwise specified.
Current deals include:

When does it start?
We began sticker distribution during Bike to Work Week, May 10-16, 2009. Businesses will be added to the list continuously.
When does it end?
That's the cool part--it doesn't!
This program is good for as long as you’ve got your helmet (or as long as a particular business chooses to participate), so keep checking back for an updated list. We’ll send out an email update every so often when we have new BB deals for you.
The deals are defined by the merchants, and they may have a time limit on specific offers. We appreciate their support for biking customers!
What kinds of deals?
That’s completely up to the business. They may choose to give you a free item with purchase of a larger item, a special deal on a particular day of the week, or some kind of discount. We’ll put the details up on the Web site, and they should have details available too.
I have an idea for a business I would bike to if they would offer BB deals.
Suggest businesses where you're a regular (and you might mention it to the business owner yourself). To suggest a business for us to contact, get in touch with local Bicycle Benefits organizer Kristen Silver, bicyclebenefits@biketoworkspokane.org, (509) 844-3343.
I own/manage a business--how can I become a BB participating merchant?
Bike to Work Spokane has some Bicycle Benefits for you that will help grow your business and bring in loyal customers.
The Bicycle Benefits program is a simple, very low-cost promotion aimed at cyclists and the businesses who want them as customers. We rolled it out beginning in May 2009 as part of the publicity for Bike to Work Week, and you can be part of our extensive and effective publicity campaign to help grow your business year-round.
I don't get it--run this by me one more time. What’s this sticker thingie?
Put your sticker on your favorite commuting helmet (inside is fine, if you don’t like the gaudy look) and show it when you bike on in to participating businesses who sport the BB window decal or countertop sign.
In return, you’ll get whatever special they’re offering their BB customers. It’s easy, fun and encourages a “Bike to Everything” approach to bike commuting.
Happy pedaling!
